INSTEC offers a range of products designed for Hall effect measurements and semiconductor characterization. The Hall effect is an electromagnetic phenomena that is very useful for measuring the electrical properties of semiconductor materials.

By applying a magnetic field to a sample carrying a known excitation current, a force is applied to the moving charge carriers. The charge carriers are displaced, resulting in a potential difference (Hall voltage) between two opposite sides of the sample which can be measured. From this Hall voltage, and a few other measurable properties of the sample, important semiconductor characteristics can be determined such as carrier concentration, carrier mobility, and dopant type. Instec's -PMH series of non-magnetic Hall effect thermal stages and plates are uniquely suited for high-precision thermal characterization of semiconductor materials via the Hall effect method.

H91 Hall Effect Measurement System DESCRIPTION

For applications requiring electrical device or material characterization, Instec is proud to offer our modular H91 Hall Effect Measurement System. The H91 system is a combination of a temperature and environmentally controlled test cell from Instec, and the powerful M91 FastHall controller from Lakeshore. Synchronize electrical measurements with temperature control to study temperature dependent phenomena via Lakeshore’s MeasureLINK Software. Choose from a number of temperature control options, accessories, and magnetic field options to optimize system performance for any sample or application.  

For added convenience, Lakeshore offers a plugin to interface the Instec mK2000B Temperature controller with the MeasureLINK software suite, making synchronizing temperature control with characterization measurments easier than ever. 

 

 


 

Lakeshore M91 FastHall Measurement Controller

The MeasureReady® M91 is an immensely powerful and versatile all-in-one Hall Effect measurement system. With automated measurement optimization, fast measurement speeds, and easy to use interface, the M91 makes analyzing samples under 4-point or Hall Bar incredibly simple. It makes for a comprehensive Hall measurement setup when paired with the Instec H91 Hall Effect Measurement System.

An all-in-one Hall analysis system, the M91 Fast Hall controller can be used with any magnet system and adds state of the art Hall measurement capabilities to any lab. The unique and powerful software and computation of the M91 removes the need for polarity switching of magnets and enables incredibly fast and accurate measurement even for low mobility samples. 

It combines the features of a switching matrix, data collection software, nanovoltmeter, current source, contact evaluator, and Hall analysis software in one easy to use touchscreen unit. It can be used with permament magnets, electromagnets, superconducting magnets, and has measurement capabilities down to 10-3 cm2/Vs
