ASTM C1421 Flexural Fixture - Ceramics | GC1421-238
Model# | GC1421-238 |
---|
GC1421-238 is designed to determine the fracture toughness, Kic, of advanced ceramics at ambient temperature, as specified by ASTM C1421. It comes in both three and four point configurations. The roller supports are to be made of hardened steel, with a hardness of at least 40 Rockwell C, and diameter of 4.5mm. ASTM requires that the fixture have a span between the supports 4 to 10 times the thickness of the test specimen. The bottom rollers must be free to roll outward, and in the case of the four point fixture, upper rollers must be free to roll inward during loading to minimize frictional effects.
