Test device requirements for ASTM D1623 test method A details test fixtures used for testing tensile and tensile adhesion properties of rigid cellular materials or structural foam. As stated in ASTM D1623, the G701 grips are self-aligning and move into alignment as soon as any load is applied. The joints above and below the specimen are of the universal type as described in method A of the standard. The G701 grips are designed to hold the test specimen in a way that avoids slippage when the load is applied.
